Coach Vantroi Chapman

Director of Daily Operations

Bronx-native Vantroi Chapman has dedicated more than half of his life to the game of
basketball; first as a player since youth, then as a coach for the past 16 years, and finally as a
basketball trainer for the last 6 years. His love for and knowledge of the game is unprecedented and his high-energy personality is infectious. He brings a lot of experience with him and his attention to detail is unmatched.

Coach Chapman played High School ball at Blessed Sacrament, a small school in New
Rochelle, where he was a major contributor to a rebuilding program. He averaged 16 points and
11 rebounds his senior year and helped his team reach the semi-finals in regionals. He then walked onto
the Division 1 team at Western Illinois University. He stayed there for two years until he decided to go
back home to New York and finish his education at Lehman College, a division 3 school, where
he was a captain and ultimately the top assistant coach for 15 years. As a coach, Vantroi
recruited a plethora of impact players and Lehman won 2 conference championships. He also
was the head coach for a semi-pro team, Westchester Dutchmen, for 3 years. The Dutchmen
had plenty of success in Chapman’s tenure, and paving the road for nine players to play
professional ball overseas. He now resides in Houston, TX where he is the head coach of the
FL-Elite middle school girl’s team and assistant at Cypress Creek High School for the boys
team.

Vantroi loves to help student athletes improve, both as players and high quality people. He
not only works on a players’ skill sets but also develops their character and self discipline. He
genuinely cares about the athletes’ wholistic development. Always smiling, always energized,
and always positive; Vantroi is multifaceted and a great asset to the Future Leaders Organization.
